I will never forget my first trip to Hollywood. As soon as we arrived, everything was exciting and new. Hollywood is a neighborhood in Los Angeles that feels like the heart of the movie world. Everything you see in the movies is there, but in real life. Walking down the famous Walk of Fame, I saw the stars on the ground with the names of actors and actresses I've admired all my life. It was amazing! It was like being inside a movie. Each star on the pavement told me a different story from the history of cinema.

Then, we went to the TCL Chinese Theater. It is a famous place where many movies are premiered and where celebrities leave their footprints in cement. Putting my hands where famous actors once did made me feel connected to them in a special way. Also, we went up to see the Hollywood sign. Seeing that huge sign in person was amazing, something I had only seen on TV and in pictures.

The weather in Los Angeles is wonderful, always warm and sunny. We had the luxury of strolling through the hills, seeing the huge mansions hiding in the trees. Everything in Hollywood has that touch of glamour and fantasy that you see in the movies.

After the magic of Hollywood, we flew to Portland, Oregon, to visit friends. Portland is a completely different city from Los Angeles, but equally fascinating. It is known for its laid-back atmosphere, its love of nature, and especially its delicious food.

Portland is a very beautiful city. The trees are tall and lush, and everything seems very green and clean. We stayed at our friends' house, who took us to see the best places in the city. One of the first places we visited was the farmers' market. There was all kinds of fresh produce, handicrafts and delicious food.

One of the craziest and most amazing things I tried in Portland was a waffle with dulce de leche glaze and toasted bacon on top. When it was offered to me, I thought it was a very strange combination, but I decided to try it - it was an explosion of flavors! The sweetness of the glaze combined with the salty, crunchy flavor of the pancetta was a unique experience. My mouth was in shock, but in the best possible way. I had never tasted something so unexpected and delicious at the same time. Portland is famous for its bakeries, and we couldn't miss visiting them. Each bakery had its own style and unique specialties. We tried everything: breads, cakes, cookies. My favorites were the chocolate filled croissants, which were perfect, flaky and delicious. We also really enjoyed the freshly made bagels and the blueberry muffins, which were exquisite.

But Portland is not just about delicious food. We also visited beautiful parks and gardens. The Portland Japanese Garden is a place of peace and serenity, with its bonsai trees, ponds and small bridges. We also walked through Forest Park, a large forest within the city, perfect to disconnect from the noise and enjoy nature. Another interesting visit was to Powell's City of Books, a gigantic bookstore that occupies an entire city block. For book lovers, it is a paradise. There are shelves and more shelves full of books of every imaginable type.

What I liked most about Portland was the people. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They made us feel at home, despite being so far away. The city has a very positive and relaxed energy that makes you feel welcome from the very first moment.

This vacation was a perfect blend of glamour and nature. Hollywood offered us the glitz and magic of the movies, while Portland gave us the warmth and beauty of a green and friendly city. I saw amazing places, tasted unexpected foods and enjoyed the company of good friends. Travel is one of the best ways to learn and grow. Every place has its own magic and sometimes the biggest surprises come from the least expected corners, like a waffle with dulce de leche glaze and bacon. This vacation taught me to appreciate both the great and the simple, and to enjoy every moment of the trip. How nice to get to know this part of the United States!

Nunca olvidaré mi primer viaje a Hollywood. Apenas llegamos, todo era emocionante y nuevo. Hollywood es un barrio de Los Ángeles que se siente como el corazón del mundo del cine. Todo lo que ves en las películas, ahí está, pero en la vida real. Caminar por el famoso Paseo de la Fama, vi las estrellas en el suelo con los nombres de actores y actrices que he admirado toda mi vida. ¡Fue increíble! Era como estar dentro de una película. Cada estrella en el pavimento me contaba una historia diferente de la historia del cine.

Luego, fuimos al Teatro Chino TCL. Es un lugar famoso donde se estrenan muchas películas y donde las celebridades dejan sus huellas en cemento. Poner mis manos donde alguna vez lo hicieron actores famosos me hizo sentir conectado con ellos de una manera especial. También, subimos a ver el letrero de Hollywood. Ver ese enorme cartel en persona fue asombroso, algo que solo había visto en la televisión y en fotos.

El clima en Los Ángeles es maravilloso, siempre cálido y soleado. Nos dimos el lujo de pasear por las colinas, viendo las enormes mansiones que se esconden entre los árboles. Todo en Hollywood tiene ese toque de glamour y fantasía que se ve en las películas.

Después de la magia de Hollywood, volamos a Portland, Oregón, para visitar a unos amigos. Portland es una ciudad completamente diferente a Los Ángeles, pero igualmente fascinante. Es conocida por su ambiente tranquilo, su amor por la naturaleza y, especialmente, por su comida deliciosa.

Portland es una ciudad muy hermosa. Los árboles son altos y frondosos, y todo parece muy verde y limpio. Nos quedamos en casa de nuestros amigos, quienes nos llevaron a conocer los mejores lugares de la ciudad. Uno de los primeros sitios que visitamos fue el mercado de agricultores. Había todo tipo de productos frescos, artesanías y comidas riquísimas.

Una de las cosas más locas y sorprendentes que probé en Portland fue un waffle con glaseado de dulce de leche y panceta tostada encima. Cuando me lo ofrecieron, pensé que era una combinación muy extraña, pero decidí probarlo. ¡Fue una explosión de sabores! La dulzura del glaseado combinada con el sabor salado y crujiente de la panceta fue una experiencia única. Mi boca estaba en shock, pero de la mejor manera posible. Nunca había probado algo tan inesperado y delicioso a la vez. Portland es famosa por sus panaderías, y no podíamos dejar de visitarlas. Cada panadería tenía su propio estilo y sus especialidades únicas. Probamos de todo: panes, pasteles, galletas. Mis favoritos fueron los croissants rellenos de chocolate, que eran perfectos, hojaldrados y deliciosos. También disfrutamos mucho de los bagels recién hechos y los muffins de arándanos, que estaban exquisitos.

Pero Portland no es solo comida deliciosa. También visitamos parques y jardines preciosos. El Jardín Japonés de Portland es un lugar de paz y serenidad, con sus bonsáis, estanques y pequeños puentes. También caminamos por el Parque Forestal, un gran bosque dentro de la ciudad, perfecto para desconectar del ruido y disfrutar de la naturaleza. Otra visita interesante fue a Powell’s City of Books, una librería gigantesca que ocupa toda una manzana. Para los amantes de los libros, es un paraíso. Hay estanterías y más estanterías llenas de libros de todos los tipos imaginables.

Lo que más me gustó de Portland fue la gente. Todos eran muy amables y acogedores. Nos hicieron sentir como en casa, a pesar de estar tan lejos. La ciudad tiene una energía muy positiva y relajada que te hace sentir bienvenido desde el primer momento.

Estas vacaciones fueron una mezcla perfecta de glamour y naturaleza. Hollywood nos ofreció el brillo y la magia del cine, mientras que Portland nos brindó la calidez y la belleza de una ciudad verde y amigable. Conocí lugares increíbles, probé comidas inesperadas y disfruté de la compañía de buenos amigos. Viajar es una de las mejores maneras de aprender y crecer. Cada lugar tiene su propia magia y, a veces, las sorpresas más grandes vienen de los rincones menos esperados, como un waffle con glaseado de dulce de leche y panceta. Estas vacaciones me enseñaron a apreciar tanto lo grandioso como lo sencillo, y a disfrutar cada momento del viaje. ¡Qué lindo es conocer esta parte de los Estados Unidos!
