How nice it can be when you don't know that something is going to give you a nice surprise. I went to Chinatown to have a drink with friends in a bar that is in the vicinity of Chinatown. That for those who do not know is the neighborhood par excellence where chefs and restaurants of all or almost all the capital go to buy some or many of their things for their eating places. So off we went. When we arrived at the neighborhood of Belgrano (now that I write it I'm not sure if it is Belgrano or Nuñez, but it is a detail less) There was a lot but a lot of people crowded at the intersection of Juramento and Luis Maria Campos, which is common at that end of what is Chinatown gather there because there are many groups of kids who get to dance K-pop and do their choreography and when we were approaching there was something else.

It wasn't kids dancing K-pop, it was a lot of people, families, friends and also tourists to see a special event. It turns out they were celebrating the Chinese New Year or the new moon as they call it too. You saw that the Chinese have like another date of conception of their history so they celebrate double, it's like the Jews who celebrate their holidays based on their beliefs but they also celebrate the catholic ones too haha. I love it because we all end up celebrating each other's holidays. Before Catholics or atheists talk about what others celebrated but they didn't realize that they were celebrating St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day and any other commercially imposed holiday that comes from other countries, anyway let's go back to history.

Not wanting to miss anything we looked at each other and automatically knew we wanted to buy a beer and get back to the melee so we could see the show they were putting on. With beer in hand we rushed back and there was a person talking over the loudspeaker and telling the story of the dragon and the moon and all the fable about this feast while a group of people were puppeteering a huge dragon like in the movies we saw a thousand times.

People were very happy and enjoying a lot. Also in another part of Chinatown they had cut a street to put a stage and there were many unknown artists for us performing and there were also Chinese singing musicians that we did not understand anything because it was literally all in Chinese, and people were very happy enjoying themselves. I must say that everything was very well organized, there was a lot of security taking care of the people and luckily there were no people trying to take advantage of the situation and stealing. The gastronomic places were crowded and there were lines in all the stores to eat something tasty or to go into some place to buy food.

Que lindo que puede ser cuando no sabes que algo te va a dar una grata sorpresa. Me fui para el barrio chino a encontrarme a tomar un traguito con amigos en un bar que hay en las inmediaciones del barrio chino. Que para los que no conoce es el barrio por excelencia donde los cocineros y los restaurantes de toda o casi toda la capital van a comprar algunas o muchas de sus cosas para sus lugares de comida. Entonces nos fuimos. Cuando llegamos al barrio de Belgrano (ahora que lo escribo no estoy seguro si es Belgrano o Nuñez, pero es un detalle menos) Había mucha pero mucha cantidad de gente amontonada en la intersección de la calle Juramento y Luis Maria Campos, que es algo común que en ese extremo de lo que es barrio chino se juntan ahí porque hay muchos grupos de chicos que se ponen a bailar K-pop y hacer sus coreografías y cuando nos fuimos acercando habia algo mas.

No eran chicos bailando K-pop, eran muchas personas, familias, amigos y también turistas para ver un evento especial. Resulta que estaban festejando el año nuevo chino o la luna nueva como le dicen también. viste que los Chinos tiene como otra fecha de concepción de su historia entonces festejan doble, es como los Judios que festejan sus fiestas en base a sus creencias pero también festejan las católicas igual jaja. Me encanta porque todos terminamos festejando las festividades de los otros. Antes los católicos o los ateos hablan de lo que festejaban los otros pero no se daban cuenta que ellos estaban festejando San Patricio, San Valentin y cualquier otra festividad comercialmente impuesta y que viene de otros países, en fin volvamos a la historia.

Sin querer perdernos nada nos miramos y automáticamente sabíamos que queríamos comprar una cerveza y volver al tumulto para poder ver el espectáculo que estaban dando. Con cerveza en mano volvimos rápido y había una persona hablando por altoparlante y contando la historia del dragón y la luna y toda la fábula sobre este festejo mientras un grupo de personas titireteando un dragón enorme como en las películas que mil veces vimos.

La gente estaba muy contenta y disfrutando mucho. Además en otra parte del barrio chino había cortado una calle para poner un escenario y había muchos artistas desconocidos para nosotros actuando animando y también había músicos cantantes chinos que no entendimos nada porque literalmente era todo en chino, y la gente estaba muy contenta disfrutando. Debo decir que estaba todo muy bien organizado, había mucha seguridad cuidando a la gente y por suerte no había gente intentando aprovecharse de la situación y robando. Los locales gastronómicos estaban abarrotados de gente y había filas en todos los comercios para comer algo rico o para entrar en algún local para comprar alimentos.
