This part of the city was originally an area of country houses or weekend houses. Later they were transformed into houses for entire families and the weekend houses were moved to other places, leaving them as houses for wealthy people. They always wanted to maintain the standard of very ostentatious and huge houses with European details wherever they could.

At one point they took a street that is really very beautiful that now I do not remember the name and I did not realize to take pictures of the sign but where now there are several very nice buildings not very high but one of those that you can see that everything is big and generous that are not and did not want to be buildings of normal people but of managers, lawyers, doctors and surgeons. The homes of people with money.

And so it was. This was the neighborhood of many politicians, including one of the most controversial presidents of the country, Carlos Menen lived there and his daughter Sulemita at another time. A neighborhood of the rich and famous with bilingual schools and beautiful streets where you can walk at night and nobody gets hurt.

Ayer nomas hace 23 o 24 hs estaba encontrándome con un grupo de personas para salir en una recorrida por el barrio de Belgrano R para ver las casas y rincones más lindos del barrio contándonos historias del barrio, de algunas antiguas casas que en ese barrio son muchísimas y curiosidades que un chico hace por el barrio y por algunos otros. Es como una especie de excursión pequeña en donde se le da a voluntad lo que vos crees que vale y la verdad valió la pena hacerla y hasta incluso creo que me quede corto. Yo pensaba que era una salida en donde no iba a haber mucha gente, mucho menos teniendo en cuenta que es día feriado frío y mucha gente que no le interesa tener este berretín de sacar fotos de cosas random como casas, techos o carteles o qué sé yo qué puedo fotografiar.

Resultó que cuando llegó ya había 6 personas esperando. Me acerco y les preguntó si estaban para hacer lo mismo y me dicen que si. Nos pusimos a charlar porque habíamos llegado temprano y combinamos unos mates mientras y se empezó a juntar gente y cuando de pronto faltaban cinco minutos antes de que sea horario y eramos unas 15 personas aproximadamente.

Empezamos el recorrido y enseguida me pude dar cuenta que Belgrano es un barrio con muchísima historia. Y no solo que es un barrio con mucha historia sino que es de los más antiguos de la ciudad. Calculo que como en todos los países y grandes ciudades paso, se van poblando de a poco y los puntos neurálgicos van cambiando o se van habitando por diferentes motivos. Esta parte de la ciudad fue en principio zona de quintas o casas de fin de semana. En donde después se transformaron en casa de familias enteras y las de fin de semana se fueron para otros lados dejando a estas que sean casas de personas pudientes. Siempre quisieron mantener el estándar de casas enormes muy ostentosas y con detalles europeos en donde pudieran.

En un momento tomaron una calle que es realmente muy hermosa que ahora no recuerdo el nombre y tampoco me di cuenta de sacarle fotos al cartel pero por donde ahora hay varios edificios muy lindos no muy altos pero sí de esos que se nota que todo es grande y generoso que no son ni quisieron ser edificios de gente normal sino de gerentes, abogadas, médicas y cirujanas. Cuchas de gente con plata.

Y así fue. Este fue el barrio de muchos políticos hasta incluso de uno de los presidentes más polémicos del país, Carlos Menen vivió allí y su hija Sulemita en otro momento. Barrio de ricos y famosos de colegios bilingües y calles bonitas en donde se camina de noche y nadie sale herido.

La verdad fue una mañana muy linda en donde charlamos un montón y quien nos dice que la recorrida fue muy generosa y muy divertida. Nos la pasamos charlando y conversando.. Ahora quedamos todos ansiosos esperando la proxima a ver a donde nos va a llevar. Les voy a mostrar más para la próxima salida.
