The language of ivrit ( עברית ) Exodus 7, Post #1
Welcome to my Hebrew reading & language series.
Exodus 7:1-7
We left off last week with Moshe (Moses) again telling God that he cannot speak well and that they would not listen to him. Oy Vey! Today, in a new chapter, we see The Creator of heaven and earth speaking to this man, telling him that he has made Moshe like God to Far'oh (to Pharaoh).
He tells him that he will command Far'oh and that his brother Aharon (Aaron) will speak for him and tell Far'oh to let the people of Israel go out of his land. Then El Shadai (the almighty) informs Moshe that he is going to harden Far'oh's heart and that Far'oh will not listen to them.
He also informs Moshe that there will signs and wonders, many of them multiplied, brought upon Far'oh and the the people will come out of Mitsraim (Egypt) after many Shefateem (judgements). Then he says something that is extremely common when God speaks. The Mitsraim (the Egyptians - in this case) shall know that Anee YHVH (I am YHVH)
I am not sure, but I believe that God does not want people to know that he is as lowly as a duke or lord of recent centuries. He has a name and we all should know it. The pronunciation of that name is uncertain and I have written a post about that. Here

After all of that, which was told to Moshe more than once, Moshe and Aharon did is God commanded them. We also learn another new fact. That Moshe was eighty and Aharon eighty-three years old when they spoke to Far'oh. So if you are less than that, it is not too late to be running interference for the Creator!
Today's reading
English
And the Lord said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet. You shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron shall tell Pharaoh to let the people of Israel go out of his land. But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, Pharaoh will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and bring my hosts, my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment. The Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring out the people of Israel from among them." Moses and Aaron did so; they did just as the Lord commanded them. Now Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh
