AI 🧠 This -Changes- everything in a bad way.

I haven't written in some time, but I have been busy. I'm getting whatever I can off of the internet and onto a local disk.

I am finding that there is less and less on the internet that I am even slightly interested in looking at. Internet searches for information come up with really long and wordy articles that repeat my question over and over back to me. There is no useful information on the topic that I am looking for. Everybody who likes to post things, along with ads that will pay them, is out there using AI to write their posts for them. But they cannot think and do not do well with articles. I can tell it is just making mass quantities of words that look good, have lots of bullet points, header titles, etc. When you just skim over the article, all good it seems. But when you begin to read it, you find that it's just restating several different points (likely the input from the culprit) and reworded sentences each and every paragraph that really don't say anything. They never get to the point that the title eludes to. It is as if someone wrote something and that someone was a babbling idiot. Instead of being called AI it should be BI.

Even if this thing ends up making sense and informing people in the way that they want to be informed, I don't think I would like using it. What if I make a comment on one of these articles? Will the advertising recipient behind the account just ask BI to 'Answer this question for me.' I mean, if I want to get those kinds of answers from a non-human, I will go to the GPT site and get them for myself. I have never interfaced with this thing yet but I have seen people do it. I'm not impressed.

It might be good at doing menial tasks like sorting data and representing it in the way that you need it to, in order to put it into a spreadsheet or something like that, but I would never present that work as my own work. I prefer that people come and read my blog in order to see what my thoughts are and hear my point of view. I write all my own stuff!

Getting back to my plan. I am pulling everything that I can from accounts that I have online. And storing it on local disks so that I have the information. I see this moment, right now, as some sort of line that will be crossed. I believe it's a line between information and human interaction and people using AI to speak for them type interaction. It's very false and fake. It's not what I'm looking for.

Similarly, we all remember a time when calling customer service would (eventually) lead you to someone who has a sign-in to the system and could fix that error that is there, the one that automatically disabled your account, shut off your electricity, or accused you of your need to have a traffic ticket. Things could be resolved with an email with proof of your innocence. Next was an automated, "Press one if you have done 'x' or 2 if your problem is resolved" diagnostic process for difficulties. After that, came the website support service which eventually used AI, the one that you would test (well I did) to see if it was human or not, followed by me cancelling my service with that company.

Aside from crypto transfers and going to government websites to take care of transactions that I need to make, the same with the state, or emails to accountants for taxes and things, I will be essentially off the internet.

If I had to make a guess, AI will become people's internet search and it will replace the news media as a source of what is happening in the world. Those companies have been wrong, sometimes intentionally, so many times that people are learning that they are, in fact, misinformation at every turn. The division and emotional melt downs that the said misinfo has caused is palpable. People who believe one thing, then are confronted with reality in the streets are paying the price for having been deceived. The Vax comes to mind.

If I cannot get real information, I would rather not have any interaction wherever deception is occurring. Then I remembered Hive. I will still be here voting and posting when I can. I hope AI will not take a foot hold here. As I said I've been busy. It's a lot of work to sort through everything you may have stored online, or in the cloud, and putting it all in order on your own drive. But I am handling it all.

The only thing between me and the data that I'm storing will be my hand on a mouse and keyboard. I am the one that has certain feelings and emotions behind videos that I've made or pictures that I've taken. No one else can really sort it properly. Besides that, if I ever want to find the things that are on my drive, I really would like to have some sort of memory as to where I placed them.

There are indeed some very large changes coming related to our lives and well-being. Many companies are going to trust this entity that appears to be really smart to manage and run things like our power grid, the gas supply, ISPs, and possibly our taxes. It will "know" how much we owe, decide the right fine or punishment we get for not paying or filing on time.

The less data that I have online for it to sort through, the less problems I will have. And you can take that to the bank. Oh wait, banks are barely staying above water as far as their usefulness as entities.

What are your thoughts?
