Catching Away of the Saints - A'seFaynu - Unseen Moon (try again)
A'seFaynu
The word means "Gather us to Yourself" and it happens at the "Last Trump" in "the twinkling of an eye" as I said in [my last post}(https://hive.blog/fot/@theplan/catching-away-of-the-saints---a-sefaynu---the-pre-feast).
Update
It is now 6:00 p.m. in Jerusalem and there are some trumpet sounds being heard there. Those are not for the Feast of Trumpets - the holiday. The FOT will not begin until the sliver of the new moon is sighted within the next hour or two. The skies are clear, so it is very likely that the moon will be seen this evening at dusk, in Hebrew they call that "the twinkling of an eye."
Here is a picture of the shofar with a prayer that says "Blessed are you YHVH our Lord, King of the universe the one who gives us the command to sound the shofar."

There is also a site called When is the New Moon where the official siting of it is logged for the religious Jews. I am noting these here for my own use as well as yours. I have to search and find these every year in order to find out what is happening in the Holy Land during this festival.
The FOT is the ancient version of the holiday. Now, they also have Rosh HaShanah which means 'head of the year' and for that reason there are two new year celebrations in Israel today. One is a fiscal new year and the other relates to the agricultural new year I believe.
My interest in this holiday is more related to many, many clues to the return of the Mashiach (Messiah) who arrives to rescue his people out of a world that is falling apart. God is known for doing these kinds of rescues as he did with Lot and his family before destroying Sodom and Gomorrah, and even the entire world at the time of Noah.
There is another holiday coming in a week and a half, called Day of Atonement which arrives ten days after the FOT. The date of that holiday is often celebrated on the wrong date if they count ten days after a calendar feast rather than counting 1 to 10 after the sighting of the new moon.

There have been preparations made with tables set up and as I said some are blowing trumpets, probably as a test.
I will likely make another post when the festival starts or especially when we get near the "last trump" because that is the key moment in all of this.
