This is another new edition of touring the city and taking pictures. This time we went to the neighborhood of Devoto to tour and visit well-known houses of the neighborhood with history and anecdotes of all kinds. This time, the members were several of the previous edition but many more new ones and this time we ended up being 22 people who went for this tour.

One of the things that surprised me was the number of properties with stories of famous people, writers or actors, soccer players and even well-known heroes who lived in that neighborhood so far from the center of the city and yet so beautiful and so cool. The first house we saw today has been transformed into a very nice little hotel that can only be visited by recommendation. It doesn't work like a conventional hotel but to go you have to have an invitation from a member of the staff. A very strange thing that I had never heard of but which is what gives it a different touch to the amount of people there.

This other house was built and made for one of the oldest families in the country, the Irigoyen family, family of one of the great Argentinean heroes. It was personally designed by his family together with an architect. The house has 13 rooms, eight of them are for the people of the house and four are guest rooms and one service room for the people who worked there with bed inside. Today this great institution is still run as such by a family whose name we could not find out.

Then we passed by an old building from the 90's where the country was all opulence and everything that could be shown that one had had to be shown. And this building, besides having everything that luxurious buildings have, had the particularity that in its entrance there was a work of art made by an Argentinean artist very well known at the time. So much was the need to show belonging that this man's work, which was made to order, was out in the open at the entrance as if it were a simple decoration with no value whatsoever. In this building lived soccer players like Basualdo, Arruabarrena and artists like Hugo Arana, Araceli Gonzalez and some others.

The neighborhood is one of those miracles of nature that happen just because, and has no explanation and I say this because? Because it is a neighborhood that today with the amount of people living in the city and the infinity of buildings that were built and raised throughout Buenos Aires, is one of the few that has not yet been destroyed by the invasion of these. There were many neighborhoods in the city with the same beauty and charm or more than this one, but as I was telling you, they were filling up with buildings and were losing their magic. This one is still the exception to this rule and I hope it will always be so.

Esta es otra nueva edición de recorrer la ciudad y sacar fotos. En esta oportunidad nos fuimos para el barrio de Devoto a recorrer y visitar casas conocidas del barrio con historia y con anécdotas de todo tipo. Esta vez, los integrantes fueron varios de la edición anterior pero muchos más nuevos y esta vez terminamos siendo 22 las personas que fuimos para este recorrido.

Una de las cosas que me sorprendió fue la cantidad de propiedades con historias de gente reconocida escritores o actores, también jugadores de fútbol y hasta próceres conocidos que vivieron en aquel barrio tan alejado del centro de la ciudad y a la vez tan hermoso y tan bacán. La primer casa que vimos hoy se transformó en un petit hotel muy lindo que solamente pueden ir por recomendación. No funciona como un hotel convencional sino que para ir tenes que tener invitación de algún miembro. Una cosa muy rara que no había escuchado jamás pero la cual es la que le da un toque diferente a la cantidad de personas que hay.

Esta otra casa fue la cual se edificio y se hizo para una de las familias más antiguas del país la familia Irigoyen, familia de uno de los grandes próceres Argentinos la cual fue hecha pensada personalmente por su familia junto con un arquitecto. La casa cuenta con 13 cuartos, ocho de ellos son para la gente de la casa y cuatro son cuartos de huéspedes y uno de servicio para la gente que trabajaba ahí con cama adentro. Hoy en día esta grandísima institución sigue funcionando como tal por una familia que no pudimos saber su nombre.

Después pasamos por un antiguo edificio de los años 90 en donde el país era todo opulencia y todo lo que se pudiera mostrar que uno tenía había que mostrarlo. Y este edificio además de tener todo lo que edificios lujosos tiene tenía la particularidad que en su entrada tenía una obra hecha por un artista Argentino muy reconocido en su época. Osea esta tal la necesidad de mostrar pertenencia que la obra de este hombre que hizo a pedido, estaba al intemperie en la entrada como si fuera una mera decoración simple sin valor alguno. En este edificio vivieron jugadores de fútbol como Basualdo, Arruabarrena y artistas como Hugo Arana, Araceli Gonzalez y algunos más.

El barrio es de esos milagros de la naturaleza que suceden porque sí, y no tiene explicación y digo esto porque? Porque es un barrio que hoy con la cantidad de gente que vive en la ciudad y la infinidad de edificios que se fueron construyendo y levantando en todo Buenos Aires, es de los pocos que aún no fue destruido por la invasión de estos. Habían muchos barrios de la ciudad con la misma hermosura y con el encanto o más que este, pero por lo que les contaba se fue llenando de edificios y fueron perdiendo la magia. Este sigue siendo la excepción a esta regla y ojalá que así lo sea por siempre.
