The language of ivrit ( עברית ) Exodus 6, Post #4
Welcome to my Hebrew reading & language series.
Exodus 6:17-26
We are continuing with the credits naming the players in this story and their family ties.
As the image (right) implies, the lands were eventually divided up by the tribes, which are the children of Israel (Jacob) and their kids. There are many examples of the life spans of these people and it would seem that well over 100 years old was the norm for those days.
The end of this passage features another call from YHVH to bring the people out of Mitsraim (Egypt) even though the ruler of Mitsraim is not even close to caving in to that request. Next post, we will be finishing up this phase of the Creator's plan. Remember, it all started with Joseph being thrown into a pit and then sold into slavery.
